Today I’d like to share a story of my long-time friend, colleague, and now recent client, Dr. Irina Pevzner.
Irina and I have known each other for nearly 20 years now and have witnessed each other’s career trajectories and personal journeys initially as peers at the College of Charleston, SC, and later from a distance.
As we became mothers, and continued pursuing our musical careers in conjunction to raising our families, I knew Irina and I shared many things in common.
This is what encouraged me to initally approach Irina when I launched my Musicians Profit Umbrella® coaching program last year.
I knew the framework I had created was ideally suited to help high-achievers like her and I felt incredibly enthusiastic to reconnect with her and invite her to join my program.
At the time we began conversations around the possibility of her joining the program, Irina felt like her career was spiraling down in the wrong direction.
Even though she had a coveted position as the Executive Director of a renowned music academy, was an active performer, and ran a successful teaching studio, Irina felt like a squirrel running in a wheel and felt burned out. “In the program, I realized that I had many unfounded assumptions that were holding me back and blocking my flow….We were finding principles that would allow me to shape a new direction in my professional life so that I’m doing what I’m like without sacrificing all the things that are important to me. We also came up with strategies to make sure that the new plan happened and not just remained an idea…I developed a website, a sales page, and I now have a few clients I’m working with. It’s really hard to believe that it all happened just after 6 months of the program. Thinking back to 6 months ago and how stuck I was and now I’m making something new happen is really incredible….For me, the additional financial income really is a side benefit because what I’m mostly happy about as a result of the program is that now I really have a clear direction and control in my professional life. I’m no longer burdened by the things that were spinning out of control and trapping me in constantly working hard and not having room for too much else. I wake up every morning embracing the day, I’m excited about the new possibilities, I’m not afraid of any challenges, and it feels amazing to be this liberated, and that is something that money really cannot buy, so that was really my biggest takeaway from the program. This is not the kind of program that will only give you information of how-to’s. Frankly, there are so many resources on the internet where you can go and look up what kind of strategies you can take….it’s kind of hard to narrow it down….but that I learned is not what makes a business successful…what makes a business successful is the inner conviction, the inner clarity that your service is valuable, and that you have something to offer to the world, and you love it, and you are passion able about it. If you don’t have that clarity you need a coach, and that is truly a transformational experience that you can’t get anywhere else. I know you can get that with Fabiana, because I certainly did.”
