How I created a brand umbrella that brought me financial freedom and creative fulfilment.
I achieved most of my career milestones by embracing all the different areas of my personal and professional life and designing a “brand umbrella,” which allowed me to create a unified sense of identity and create new income opportunities.
This program allowed me to co-found a multi-six-figure business called Superior Academy of Music ten years ago, where I created a program to help empower students through music education.
It also enabled me to effectively position myself in the academic job marketplace and to be appointed Founder and Director of the University of North Texas Music Business and Entrepreneurship program.
In this role, I spearheaded the creation of a major initiative that helped musicians launch their own businesses, win tenure-track University teaching positions, and gain arts administration jobs. Under my leadership, the UNT Music Business and Entrepreneurship program earned national recognition by being ranked among the top 15 music business schools by Billboard magazine for 4 years in a row.
Designing my brand umbrella also allowed me to keep my artistic side alive by creating several projects that blended my various interests and personal background, such as “A Piano Journey Through Latin-America” and most recently a multimedia lecture-recital called “Women as Musician Entrepreneurs.”
Using this approach, I’ve also helped my coaching clients develop their businesses through a renewed sense of artistic inspiration that led to action and positive results reflective of their full beings.
Because of what I’ve been through and the lessons I’ve learned along the way, I’m now on a mission to help musicians and arts leaders become artistically and financially empowered to pursue a career path that inspires them while positively impacting those around them.
